A checklist and reminder for the backups you do yourself.
Backup Reminder brings your backup tasks together in one Windows
desktop app. Open your tools, perform each backup, review the
results, then check it off. Your progress is saved so you can pick
up where you left off. Enable optional reminders to open your
checklist on a monthly schedule or at a repeating interval.
Key Features:
Your Own Checklist: Add, edit, and arrange
tasks and categories to match your backup routine, with clear
saved states and confirmation before discarding unsaved edits.
Tools Within Reach: Launch configured
programs, files, folders, or websites from your checklist.
Choose custom icons that stay with your configuration.
Grouped Backup Jobs: Keep related tasks
together with a shared launcher and individual checkmarks.
Saved Progress: Keep partial checkmarks
between sessions, see when you checked each item, and record
completion when every item is checked.
Optional Reminders: Choose a monthly or
repeating schedule through Windows Task Scheduler, with a Windows
or custom WAV reminder sound. Reminders open your checklist;
you run the backups yourself.
Configuration Backup and Restore: Save your
checklist, progress, custom icons, and sound in one ZIP. Restore
preserves a recovery copy and leaves reminders off until you
enable them again.
Light and Dark Appearance: Choose a theme
or follow your Windows appearance setting.
Built-In Help: Search local help topics
for guidance on using and configuring the app.
Portable Windows x64 app, tested on Windows 11. Scheduled reminders
require you to be signed in. An installer and automatic updates are
not included. Checking off a task records your confirmation rather
than verifying the backup. Configuration backups contain app settings,
not your documents or backup programs.
To update, close Backup Reminder and replace the supplied files in
the same app folder. Your personal data stays separate, and keeping
the executable at the same path preserves your scheduled reminder.
